Whether you’re a beginner or a hiking pro, you’re sure to find hiking spots in St. Louis that will become your go-to location.

Hawk Ridge Trail, Edgar M. Queeny Park

Enjoy a long walk, go on a bike ride, or blow off some steam with a fast run at Hawk Ridge Trail, Queeny’s longest and most rural trail tucked away in the middle of the suburbs. This 4.5-mile loop around the park offers visitors beautiful views of open fields, shady stretches through thick woods, and a few steep hills for an incredible exercise. This pup-friendly location is a great place for all skill-levels hikers and their fur babies to enjoy a day outdoors.

West Tyson County Park

If you’re more of an adventurous biker or handy hiker, there are four trailheads in West Tyson County Park worth checking out. The most popular is the Chubb Trail, which many consider a rough ride. It extends into Castlewood State Park and Lone Elk Park. Along this trail, hikers can check out towering Gasconade dolomite rock formations, outcroppings, lots of switchbacks, and loose rocks to test your technical skills.
